OverviewWe are seeking a versatile technician and machinery expert to join our custom art frame manufacturing environment. This role involves operating CNC routers for cutting acrylic and mat board picture frame products, using a double miter saw, and managing underpinning with a pneumatic underpinner. The Production Technician supplies framing materials to the art cell teams, ensures timely order fulfillment and high quality.
Responsibilities- Efficiently operate CNC routers to precisely cut picture frame products from acrylic and mat board.
- Utilize nesting software to arrange cutting patterns and maximize material usage.
- Operate a double miter saw with safety and accuracy to cut moulding for picture frame production.
- Apply stain and wood glue and prepare frames for underpinning using a pneumatic underpinner.
- Collaborate closely with neighboring teams, receiving live orders and prioritizing tasks.
- Conduct final visual quality inspections to ensure exceptional craftsmanship.
- Assist in shipping when needed to package and ship finished products.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of materials and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
- Excellent hand‑eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to work with one’s hands.
- Preferred prior woodworking experience.
- Familiarity with operating CNC routers, double miter saws, or similar machinery.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
- Efficient time management and ability to adapt to changing production demands.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced production environment and collaborative team setting.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use basic software.
- Preferred familiarity with picture framing or related industries.
- Frequent standing, lifting, and occasional work in the shipping department.
- Exposure to noise and dust typical of a manufacturing environment.
- Temperature controlled environment.
- Regular interaction with team members and neighboring production cells.
