Locate Technician

Grid Hawk LLC is seeking an experienced Locate Technician to accurately locate underground facilities including telephone lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. This role is essential to ensure compliance with client and state requirements.

• Observe, locate, mark, and document underground and exposed utility locations using multiple methods and equipment.
• Work independently or as part of a team under the supervision of a assigned supervisor.
• Dispatched to locate and verify facilities for utility customers.
• Work in and walk over all types of terrain and construction zones, in residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas, in all weather conditions.
• Interpret job order tickets, blueprints and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.
• Perform locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as necessary.
• Communicate and interact with customers, co‑employees, and third parties in a professional manner.
• Maintain a damage‑free environment through clear communication with management, contractors, and utility customers.
• Use and maintain equipment and technology necessary for locating tasks.
• Perform all work in a timely, professional, and efficient manner.

• Background check with no violations within the last five years.
• Pass a DOT drug test.
• State‑issued driver’s license.
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs and walk or stand for multiple hours a day.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with vacuum truck (A+).

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to problem‑solve.
• Pass background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.
