* Magistrate Court is performed at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department courtroom daily.
* Prepare arrest files with proper forms for defendant and judge.
* Interview defendants while in custody to determine financial status for indigent defense appointments.
* Assist judge with questions, copies, forms or as needed.
* Provides assistance for data collection, data entry and validation of data concerning the Indigent Defense Program.
* Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
** MINIMUM

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

*** High School Diploma/GED.
* Good computer and typing skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Flexible with magistrate hours.
* Good interpersonal and organizational skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.
* Ability to complete assigned projects.
* ** REQUIRED TO WORK EVERY WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY****.*
* ** SALARY:
** Part-Time, $20.00 per hour, up to 29 hours per week
