Start Date:

ASACDates: 3 months with possibility of extension

Work Schedule:

Mon - Fri with 8-hour shifts

Inpatient or Outpatient:
Inpatient clinic setting within the prison

Staffing Mix:
Will have medical support staff in the medical infirmary

Does the Provider need to prescribe? Yes Certifications required: ACLS; BLS - Must be AHA certified;
Must be board certified or Board Eligible Background

Experience:

Inpatient Psychiatry Credentialing Requirements/Timeframe: 14-21 days Additional Information:

Will complete evaluations in D&E (Diagnostic and Evaluation) - up to 5 working days to stabilize and determine if patients need admission to a treatment track

Will also see patients who have already been admitted - treat with psychotropic medications, discharge back to assigned units when stable

Psychiatrists will assist with involuntary admission hearings, compelled medication hearings, and evaluations/documentation for civil commitments to free world state psychiatric hospitals (inmates leaving the prison system who require additional psych treatment) - may be required to testify in commitment hearings occasionally - currently doing by Zoom/phone.
