Paid Experience

School of Science and Technology provides the following pay range: $62,000.00–$82,000.00 per year. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience; please discuss specifics with your recruiter.

    Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences to help them reach their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Meet Texas “highly qualified” standards.
  • Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and subject area of assignment (required for ESL/Bilingual, SPED, Pre‑K, and preferred for other subjects).
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Effective written and oral communication with all levels of management, both internal and external to the campus.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally to the district.
  • Computer literacy, including district database, spreadsheet and word‑processing software, calculator, copier and telephone.
  • Effective interview, public‑speaking, and problem‑solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to student maturity.
  • Prepare lessons that accommodate individual differences.
  • Show written evidence of preparation upon supervisor request.
  • Encourage students to set and uphold classroom behavior standards.
  • Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc.
  • Employ varied instructional techniques and media aligned with location and student needs.
  • Implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.
  • Assess student progress and provide required progress reports.
  • Refer students for evaluation by district specialists when needed.
  • Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
  • Assist administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
  • Develop and enforce reasonable classroom rules while maintaining fairness and order.
  • Be available to students and parents for education‑related matters.
  • Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, evaluating performance cooperatively with department heads.
  • Maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Participate in district and campus staff development; attend staff meetings and serve on committees.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues.
  • Communicate openly with students, parents, and community members.
  • Prepare and submit lesson plans on time using the school platform.
  • Maintain a minimum number of grades in the gradebook on schedule.
  • Meet with a mentor teacher regularly if newly hired.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and

Physical Requirements
  • Light work; occasional light lifting.
  • Nights and weekend activities occasionally required.
  • Office setting; may involve prolonged desk work.
  • Moderate travel required.
