* Oversees daily operations and assign Psychology and Substance Abuse Services (SAS) staff specific cases, tasks, and responsibilities when working with youth, families and parents.
* Develops treatment and specialized intervention programming such as intervention curriculum to meet the growing and expanding demands of the clients and families we serve.  Trains staff for program fidelity.
* Provides psychological testing, therapeutic services, training and professional consultation to the department.  Trains psychology staff in evaluation report writing and data interpretation.
* Provides therapeutic and specialized intervention services to youth and families.
* Makes professional recommendations on individual cases to the probation officer to be presented to court.
* Assists in planning, coordinating and conducting on-going therapeutic psychological testing and related services for juveniles; provides therapeutic services in crisis resolution.
* Conducts court ordered evaluations of juveniles.  Conducts Psychological Evaluations / Behavior Health Assessments for court answering psycholegal questions.  Provide expert testimony for the court system when needed.
* Researches, prepares reports, instructs and testifies in court.
* Assists in supervising other licensed mental health professionals, psychology interns and practicum students.  Oversee all aspect of graduate students (i.e., counseling, psychology) training program.
* Compiles and formulates statistical information as required by various agencies and departmental needs.
* Monitors and tracks budget expenditures, relating to funds and supplies.
* Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
** MINIMUM

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

*** Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an Accredited Program with APA approved pre-doctoral internship.
* Licensed in Texas as a Licensed Psychologist or have passed the EPPP exam and be willing to take other necessary exams in Texas before being hired.
* Experience with youth age 10 and older.
* Knowledge of Mental Health Law and Policy.
* Additional licenses as a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider (LSOTP),  preferred.
* Knowledge, skills, and confidence working with systems theory and experience utilizing evidence based programming such as Family Functional Therapy (FFT), Multisystemic Therapy (MST), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
* Knowledge of Chapter 55 of the Texas Family Code including examinations for Certification (Transfer), Fitness to Proceed, and Lack of Responsibility.
* 3-5 years job related experience.
* Strong computer, management, supervisory and organizational skills.
* Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.
* Good accounting and bookkeeping skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to complete assignments with tight deadlines.
* Licensed as a Psychologist with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
* Licensed with State Counsel on Sex Offender Treatment preferred.
* On call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
* Ability to obtain formal training in order to conduct Fitness to Proceed and Lack of Responsibility examinations after employment.
** STARTING SALARY RANGE:
** Will commensurate with experience up to $ base pay
*** This position is eligible for additional compensation based upon state supplement and certification pay.
