Mind Care Solutions, a clinician-owned and operated leader in comprehensive mental health services, is seeking a psychiatrist to provide psychiatric consults, follow-up care, and medication management within the facility. This position will focus on direct clinical care, supporting the overall mental health program by collaborating with the treatment team and ensuring high-quality psychiatric services for inmates/residents.

Compensation

Compensation: dependent on contract/employment type

Schedule

Schedule: 40 hours per week, dayshift

Position Summary
  • Provide direct psychiatric care to assigned patients.
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations: admission, assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and discharge.
  • Manage psychotropic medication prescribing, monitoring, and adjustments.
  • Participate in civil commitment, legal, or due process proceedings when applicable.
  • Contribute to quality improvement / quality management (QI/QM) programs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, departmental policies, state licensing, and maintaining required registrations.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Eligible (within 1 year of residency completion) in Psychiatry
  • Psychiatrist - Corrections is required to have an active and unrestricted license in the state of TX
  • Maintains an active Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
  • Have excellent skills in diagnostic assessment and counseling
  • This position requires sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and independence
  • Valid Driver's License is required
  • Psychiatrist with active TX DEA required
