Under the general direction of the Security Manager, the Security Officer is responsible for the protection of persons and property, and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations at Oak Bend Medical Center. This includes observing behavioral health patients as assigned and adhering to federal, state, and local laws to prevent losses due to accidents and incidents.
Minimum Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of education will be considered.
Minimum Work Experience
- Previous experience in security; hospital security experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Certified non-commissioned security officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety (Security Bureau) OR commissioned security officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety (Security Board).
- Valid Texas Driver’s License.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification (required within 60 days of employment).
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification through the CPI (required within 6 months of employment).
Age Requirement
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
- Ability to read and write English, follow instructions, and produce accurate reports.
- Knowledge of security and law enforcement practices.
- Problem-solving skills for independent work.
