Entry-level Warehouse Specialist I position located at the facility warehouse. The role supports Supply Services, operating in warehouses and across state facilities.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs)- Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule and performs other duties as assigned.
- Reviews system-generated picking tickets, verifies items, picks and loads carts, stages loaded carts for outgoing.
- Loads and unloads warehouse stock using lifting equipment, puts away stock, and delivers items to ordering departments.
- Unloads vendor freight trucks, verifies shipments, inspects, counts and checks items.
- Enters data into MIMS automated inventory control program and assists with inventories, reconciles variances.
- Enters data into CAPPS Financial system for receiving of stock items.
- Participates in COOP plan and other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Knowledge of general warehouse operations (shipping, receiving, issuing, customer service, inventory control).
- Ability to use mechanical lifting devices to move, transfer, and deliver goods.
- Ability to review warehouse rules, regulations, and policies for compliance.
- Ability to use a handheld device for managing warehouse stock and receiving goods.
- Computer skills for using inventory control and receiving software.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Graduate from an accredited high school or GED.
- Work experience using inventory control and receiving software.
- Experience in a warehouse/inventory control related field preferred.
- Experience operating forklift and other material handling equipment preferred.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License (Texas Driver’s License preferred). Must be checked yearly for violations or suspensions.
- Forklift Driver Training – SAF
0100, completion required within three months of employment.
