About the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage fast-paced, high-volume invoice processing. This role supports the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations and plays a key part in maintaining vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments in a timely and accurate manner
• Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts to ensure proper documentation
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date A/P records and files
• Prepare weekly payment runs and assist with month-end closing activities
• Communicate with vendors regarding billing issues, payment status, and account inquiries
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation when needed

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role
• High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a high-volume A/P environment
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Familiarity with electronic payment systems and ERP platforms

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
