Accounts Payable Specialist – Richmond, VA

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage fast-paced, high-volume invoice processing. This role supports the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations and plays a key part in maintaining vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Process invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments in a timely and accurate manner
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts to ensure proper documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date A/P records and files
- Prepare weekly payment runs and assist with month-end closing activities
- Communicate with vendors regarding billing issues, payment status, and account inquiries
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation when needed
- 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in a high-volume A/P environment
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Familiarity with electronic payment systems and ERP platforms

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
