Summary
Bering Straits Professional Services (BSPS), a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Administrative Assistant for employment at DLA Weapons Support (Richmond, VA). This individual will assist the Equal Employment Opportunity Directorate by providing operational, project support services, administrative, planning, and evaluative work which facilitates the day-to-day operations of the command Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Independently complete assignments and assist with other duties to provide services to civilian employees in a wide variety of professional, administrative, and clerical roles while supporting a variety of special projects.
- Effectively use customer service skills and provide status updates to employees.
- Support the review and update of policies, processes, and procedures.
- Carry out day‑to‑day activities involving records management and file/record keeping.
- Monitor suspense dates and deliverables; review finished work for technical soundness, appropriateness, and conformity to policy and requirements.
- Attend in‑person and Microsoft Teams meetings to discuss policies and procedures affecting employees.
- Proficiently work in an MS Windows environment and use standard computer software such as MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Office programs, with particular focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Extensive experience in tracking and analysis of information and monitoring suspenses and deliverables.
- Complete any required training to meet agency requirements.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Significant customer service/personnel interaction skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work with large numbers of people in a fast‑paced information‑centric environment.
- Ability to adapt to emergent policy changes and challenges associated with workplace accommodations for employees.
- Ability to generate routine reports and meet deadlines for assigned deliverables.
- Readily available to meet the demanding needs and flexible schedules of Senior Executive Staff.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.

- This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety‑sensitive” functions.
- This position does not perform DOT “safety‑sensitive” functions (as defined under 49 CFR Part 40) and is subject to all federal requirements related to Department of Transportation requirements for those performing, or on‑call to perform, “safety‑sensitive” functions. Employees must provide a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC).
The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi‑line telephone systems. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting.
Supervisory Responsibilities- No supervisory responsibilities.
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
