Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) provide services and resources which empower individuals who are blind, vision impaired or deafblind to achieve their desired levels of employment, education, and personal independence.
We are seeking a Library Services Support Specialist - #BVI
00363 to provide the appropriate and adequate provision of adaptive equipment and materials to persons who are blind and vision impaired.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Education Services Inventory and Circulation
- NLS Equipment
- Records and Reports
- Reader Advisor Support
- Assists with shelving and organizing materials with 95% accuracy on an ongoing basis
- Ability to package material and ship.
Completes duties and/or projects as needed or directed by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications Training/Experience- Training and experience in Store keeping
- Training and experience in Inventory Control
- Computer Software and Database Experience
- Inventory Control Systems
- Attention to detail
- Customer service
- Organizational
- Data entry
- Verbal and written communication
- Experience working a library, resource center, or related field.
- Equipment handling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to keep records.
- This position has been designated a sensitive position under Va. Code § 2.2 1201.1.
- A fingerprint based criminal history check is required of the finalist.
