Senior Associate, Business Operations

Responsibilities
The Senior Associate, Business Operations steers the firm-wide, non-consulting side of our small-business functions, including:
- playing a primary role in Human Resources, Contract Administration, and Facilities Management
- overseeing management of Accounting, IT, Office, Marketing and related functions and staff
Quality assurance, operational excellence, and effective communication are expected throughout all activities of this position.
The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Managing Principal, supervise three direct reports, and serve as a liaison with the Senior Associate, Consulting Services and project management staff generally.
In addition to conventional departmental activities, cross-functional areas of focus may include but not be limited to:
- reviewing, updating, and overseeing implementation of standard operating procedures
- reviewing and updating roles, responsibilities, and job descriptions generally
- identifying and implementing internal training, mentorship, and facilitation initiatives
- reviewing and administering systems for client and vendor contracts and procurement
- serving as a point of contact for client relations, collections, and project delivery strategies
- interfacing between billable and non-billable functions for project management technology, process, and accountability improvements
Dependent upon the successful candidate’s experience, this position may also provide Owner’s Representation for the Richmond office building’s forthcoming renovation project.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should have a Bachelors’ degree, professional training, and senior-level experience relevant to the job functions listed herein, preferably within the context of a small business environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, team- and self-management skills with thoughtfulness and strong professional ethics related to work, business objectives, and environmental sustainability.
