Principal Associate, Principal Extended Ops Associate - Card Delivery Operations (Client Facing)

As a Principal Associate for Card Delivery Operations, you are the operational engine bringing our business partners’ card products to reality. In this subject matter expert role, you will build and scale processes that boost efficiency, lower operational risk, and deliver seamless outcomes for our customers. You will serve as the primary integrator across stakeholders—driving accountability, securing technical readiness, and hitting critical fulfillment targets.

Built for a high-performing operator with exceptional project management capability, this position demands rigorous precision and collaborative leadership. You will work side-by-side with cross-functional tech leads and external supplier managers to translate complex rollout plans into flawless execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution

  • Plan Execution: Directly own project plans, managing daily tasks, tracking milestones, and ensuring projects remain on schedule.
  • Timeline Management: Proactively identify potential delays or bottlenecks in the rollout schedule and work with cross-functional partners to develop mitigation plans.
  • Meeting Orchestration: Facilitate recurring tactical syncs between internal teams and external suppliers to ensure clear communication and accountability.

Supplier & Technical Coordination

  • Supplier Liaison: Serve as the primary operational point of contact for the supplier’s Project Manager, ensuring our external partners are aligned with Capital One’s technical and timing requirements.
  • Product/Tech Partnership: Collaborate closely with internal Product Managers and Technical Leads to translate system requirements into actionable supplier tasks.
  • Test Output Review: Review and validate internal and supplier test results and output to ensure execution meets business intent.

Operational Integrity

  • Detail-Oriented Oversight: Maintain rigorous documentation of project progress, decision logs, and supplier readiness checklists.
  • Issue Tracking: Identify and document technical or operational "bugs" during the rollout process, following them through to resolution with tech and supplier partners.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Apply your operations experience to drive efficiency and reduce risk.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Exceptional ability to establish structure and clarity in ambiguous or unstructured environments.
  • Strong subject matter expertise (or rapid learning agility) in card personalization and manufacturing processes, including upstream and downstream impacts.
  • Highly strategic, proactive problem-solver with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Travel Expectations: This role requires the associate to be out in the field for sales, customer or site visits on a regular basis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • At least 1 year of experience in Third-Party Vendor Management
  • At least 1 year of experience using Google Suite or Microsoft Office
