Job Description & How to Apply Below

Who we are:

At Dwell, we like to think big and small – producing high minded concepts without losing sight of the details. We’re notoriously accurate: producing some of the cleanest documents this side of the galaxy. We’re methodically unconventional: designing clever spaces that aren’t outlandish or lacking purpose. And we’re solid people: easy to work with, fun to be around, and void of pretension.

Dwell's award-winning architectural and interiors teams work with both housing and retail developers, including some of the nation’s largest Real Estate Investment Trusts, in designing high density, mixed-use, and urban infill projects. Our projects and offices span many states from Arizona to South Florida, up through DC, Virginia, and Maryland, and into New York and Connecticut. We have been awarded as one of the Best Places to Work in 2021 and for many years prior.

Dwell Design Studio is seeking an experienced Construction Administrator (CA) with insane problem‑solving skills to guide the Construction Administration Process with one of our design teams and serve as a liaison between our design professionals, consultants, contractors, and client representatives.

What you’ll do:
  • Administrating the construction process; reviewing Submittals and Shop Drawings, responding to RFIs, preparing drawing revisions, and coordinating with Engineering Consultants.
  • Reviewing construction documents, project construction budgets and evaluating construction progress.
  • Processing Applications for Payment.
  • Observing construction work in progress to ensure performance with specifications and contract documents.
  • Creating Field Reports.
  • QC Reviews with coordinated sets of working drawings.
  • Analyzing shop drawings of varying complexity, as well as reporting problems and deviations from plans and specifications to the project design team.
  • Maintaining Submittal and RFI Logs.
  • Taking a team‑oriented approach to the Construction Process.
  • Mentoring younger staff and leading group site visits.
What you need to bring:
  • Five or more years of experience in a CA role for an architectural firm.
  • Experience in all project phases.
  • Experience in multifamily, mixed‑use or student housing construction strongly preferred.
  • Have a positive attitude with a sense of humor.
  • Excellent time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Responsive:
Excellent organizational skills and follow‑through ability.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Travel Requirements of approximately 20%–30% (frequent jobsite presence).

Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. Therefore applicants will need to be authorized to work in the U.S. and currently reside in the U.S.
