Senior Superintendent – Richmond, VA

Cooper Tacia General Contracting Company invites experienced Senior Superintendents to join our commercial construction team in Richmond, VA. Our collaborative and innovative environment values every team member and empowers them to contribute to our success.

Description

As a Senior Superintendent, you will lead on‑site management of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers and provide leadership, mentorship, and expertise to Assistant Superintendents, driving project success and fostering professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on leadership on the job site, guiding and mentoring Assistant Superintendents and other team members.
  • Oversee the management of construction sites, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents, providing training and support to advance their careers.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work on‑site to ensure timely, quality completion and build strong relationships.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily logs and reports.
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to uphold high workmanship standards.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of experience in commercial construction with a solid track record of successful project completions.
  • Extensive experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple trades on‑site.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed construction goals and project timelines.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and technological communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization capabilities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent time‑management and proactive problem‑solving skills.
  • Logical thinking and common‑sense approach to challenges.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards on all job sites.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
