Lead Electrical Estimator - Data Center

The Lead Estimator reports directly to the Senior Preconstruction Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop cost estimates from take-off to bid hand-off, including change orders.
  • Analyze material and labor requirements.
  • Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings.
  • Compute and submit bids.
  • Read and understand blueprints thoroughly.
  • Meet with engineers, customers, vendors, and project managers.
  • Inspect project locations to determine labor and materials needed.
  • Contact vendors for pricing and assess equipment leasing costs.
  • Maintain change order documentation in an organized manner.
  • Coordinate and organize estimators as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills &

Competencies:
  • Knowledge of NEC and Low Voltage Systems.
  • Ability to read specifications and blueprints.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Risk analysis capabilities.
  • Experience estimating projects of various sizes.
  • Calm under deadlines and pressure.
  • Excellent math and computer skills, especially in Microsoft or Google Suite.
Education Requirements:
  • 8-10 years experience with a High School Diploma, or
  • 6-8 years with an Associate degree, or
  • 2-4 years with a Bachelor's degree.
Preferred but not required:
  • Familiarity with Estimating Software like Accubid or Con Est.
  • Experience with on-site, mission-critical projects.
  • Hands-on construction experience.
Abilities:
  • Prolonged computer use and sitting.
  • Reach, finger dexterity, listening, speaking, reading, and applying rules.
