Our Richmond office is looking for a full‑time, self‑motivated team player to fill the position of Stormwater Inspector
. The selected individual will inspect construction sites for compliance with stormwater regulations and is responsible for ensuring site compliance with all applicable VPDES Construction General Permits and the project Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
This is primarily a field position requiring the majority of the work hours to be spent on project sites.
Essential duties and responsibilities- Conduct routine site inspections as specified in the SWPPP.
- Read and understand civil construction plans and topographical maps to verify site compliance.
- Identify BMP issues and coordinate with contractors to address items needed to bring the site back into compliance.
- Communicate inspection results with the project team.
- Complete SWPPP inspection reports and update the SWPPP in a timely manner.
- Solid understanding of stormwater regulations, construction practices, BMPs, and VPDES regulations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well individually with minimal supervision and as a team player.
- Ability to maintain own schedule and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Capable of walking long distances on potentially difficult terrain.
- Willingness to attend training classes to obtain industry certifications as necessary.
