Healthcare Construction Project Manager

This role leads large, complex healthcare construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring they finish on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. The Healthcare Construction Project Manager coordinates all project activities, collaborates closely with owners and project teams, and delivers an exceptional experience for stakeholders while supporting a rapidly growing organization in Southern Virginia.

• Lead and manage large, complex healthcare construction projects from planning through closeout, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Drive all phases of the project lifecycle, including preconstruction, construction, and post-construction activities, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
• Oversee project estimating activities and ensure accurate cost projections, budgets, and financial tracking throughout the project.
• Apply extensive knowledge of construction means and methods to plan and execute work efficiently and safely.
• Manage construction accounting processes related to the project, including cost control, change management, and financial reporting.
• Administer project documents, including contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring accurate records and timely communication.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to align expectations and resolve issues promptly.
• Lead and participate in project scheduling activities, including the development, monitoring, and updating of project schedules.
• Oversee project engineering functions, including technical coordination, constructability reviews, and support for field operations.
• Manage and coordinate construction of building elements such as doors and related components, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Use project management and construction software tools to support scheduling, documentation, communication, and reporting.
• Provide leadership and direction to project team members and, where applicable, manage employees assigned to the project.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and maintain strong working relationships.
• Promote a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture that supports continuous improvement and high performance across the project team.

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of industry experience, with a significant portion spent working for a general contractor.
• Experience working on healthcare construction projects.
• Extensive experience and knowledge of construction estimating, means and methods, and industry practices.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting and cost control processes.
• Experience with document administration, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Proven ability to manage complex construction projects, including scheduling and project coordination.
• Experience with commercial construction environments.
• Mechanical construction understanding sufficient to coordinate with mechanical trades and systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with owners, design teams, and subcontractors.
• Experience managing employees or leading project teams.
