Understanding the importance of social media, digital content, and streaming video and audio is a must. If you are an out‑side‑the‑box thinker who thrives in a creative environment and isn’t afraid to take chances, if you’re cool under pressure, and know how to turn breaking news into can’t‑miss radio, this is your moment. Audacy offers full time employees with a comprehensive benefits package to include health care coordinator, medical, dental, vision, telemedicine, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, disability, life insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, paid time off (sick, vacation, personal, parental, volunteer), 401(k) retirement plan, discounted employee stock purchase, student loan payment assistance program, legal assistance, life assistance program, identity theft protection, discounted home and auto insurance, and pet insurance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and shape the editorial direction of WRVA’s Morning Show with compelling, original content that drives listener engagement.
  • Collaborate with hosts, producers, the Brand Manager, and news team to create timely, informative, and entertaining show segments.
  • Actively participate in and oversee the creation of digital content across all platforms, including audio, video, and social media.
  • Engage directly with the audience on‑air, on‑line, and at live events, maintaining a consistent and authentic presence.
  • Coordinate interviews, breaking news coverage, and special features that elevate the show’s reputation and relevance.
  • Operate control board and manage audio production elements as needed, ensuring seamless execution of each broadcast.
  • Monitor music, commercial logs, and ensure FCC compliance throughout the shift.
  • Represent the station at promotions, events, and remote broadcasts, supporting show and sponsor visibility.
  • Stay on top of local, national, and cultural trends to keep content fresh, informed, and in tune with WRVA’s audience.
  • Attend regular staff meetings, coaching sessions, and work closely with programming leadership to continuously refine the show’s direction.
  • Other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of on‑air and/or producing experience in a major or mid‑market radio environment (News/Talk experience preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to react quickly to breaking news and live content demands.
  • Proven expertise in audio production and control board operation; familiarity with systems such as Wide Orbit, Vox Pro, and Adobe Audition.
  • Proficiency in digital content creation, social media engagement, and multi‑platform storytelling.
  • Strong writing and video editing skills; ability to create short‑form and long‑form content for digital and on‑air use.
  • Deep understanding of the Richmond market and/or a strong desire to connect with a local audience in a meaningful way.
  • Self‑motivated team player who thrives under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑profile environment.
  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance is required.
