Principal Associate, Associate Creative Director — PPX Brand Creative

Capital One Brand Creative is looking for an experienced, strategic, and digitally‑savvy Associate Creative Director to join the Premium Products & Experiences (PPX) team. You are a native who is comfortable being hands‑on as well as directing a team of designers and copywriters to world‑class creative executions in the Premium space. You are equally passionate about your creative craft and about strategy to develop innovative and upscale customer experiences.

As the Associate Creative Director, you will support the PPX email creative director in leading the creative development of our core Premium products through key customer digital channels, with a heavy focus on email and CRM.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with Creative Directors and Project Managers to define intent, brief teams, and deliver marketing that cuts through the noise.
  • Be a creative leader among your team of Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters (including a mix of full‑time associates, contractors, and agencies).
  • Collaborate with marketing strategists and internal business clients to positively influence marketing strategy and the customer experience.
  • Use research and data to ground your creative decisions.
  • expert knowledge of email and marketing trends, and translate business intent into creative strategies and executions that market products effectively.
  • Present and influence with a convincing and inspiring style to increase buy‑in and open the door for new opportunities – both for your team and department.
  • Mentor and build expertise in your craft, whether copywriting or art direction, with your peers and team members.

Candidates must provide a portfolio of their creative work for consideration
  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in copywriting or art direction
  • 1+ year experience leading projects through junior creatives (preferred)
  • Channel expertise and skill within Email, UX, UI, Web, and Print
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and digital design software (e.g., Figma)
  • General knowledge of the Taxi email platform
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: premium goods, luxury, premium travel
  • Experience at a large in‑house creative team
  • Experience working with a Fortune 100 brand
  • Experience in the financial services industry

Salary ranges for this role vary by location:

  • McLean, VA: $117,300 - $133,900
  • New York, NY: $128,000 - $146,100
  • Richmond, VA: $106,700 - $121,700

This role is eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI).
