Senior Health Planner at HDR

We are seeking a Senior Health Planner to support our growing Health practice and continue delivering award‑winning integrated healthcare planning and design. For more than 50 years, HDR has delivered evidence‑based design solutions that fully integrate clinical, operational, and facility planning to support strategic objectives in healthcare.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide planning, design, and coordination support on projects and pursuits.
- Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings.
- Prepare drawings and specification documents.
- Research, plan, design, and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials.
- Understand and apply current healthcare trends.
- Prepare health‑planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives.
- Coordinate all disciplines related to building design and health planning.
- Mentor junior staff or interested colleagues in health‑planning practices.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master's degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Health Architecture.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Health Planning.
- Architectural registration.
- Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, MS Office, Bluebeam).
- Advanced credentials desired (e.g., ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP).
- Willingness to travel.
- Knowledge and experience in healthcare architecture planning and design.
- Strong client‑presentation skills.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, flexible.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in building construction.
- Understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing precision technical plans, prints, drawings, and models.
