Overview

CoStar Group (NASDAQ: CSGP) is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. Included in the S&P 500 Index and the NASDAQ 100, CoStar Group is on a mission to digitize the world’s real estate, empowering all people to discover properties, insights and connections that improve their businesses and lives.

About the Role

CoStar Group’s growing Product Design team makes a direct impact on people, creating products for our 60 million users. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer with strength in visual design and user research skills to join our team and support our commitment to user-focused product development. In this role, you will partner closely with various product managers and business analysts in charge of discrete product capabilities as well as broad, cross-product initiatives.

The Senior Product Designer who supports one or more product teams is a passionate customer advocate. You genuinely care about how the products you work on support our users, and you contribute to the success of a user-centered design practice within our organization.

This position is located in Richmond, Virginia and is in office 4 days per week and remote 1 day per week.

About You

Simply put, you love simplifying complex problems. You thrive at being hands‑on and immersive. You look for opportunities to improve the way things work, and you have the drive to challenge the enterprise software status quo. You are also experienced working with product teams and know how to clarify requirements and work towards consensus and compromise. You're a proactive self-starter. If you see a problem, you look for ways to fix it instead of waiting for others to fix it for you.

You are looking to shape the experience of the users of our software — to make things better for the user’s sake, not just for design’s sake.

Share Your Work, Share Your Process

We want to see sample projects and past work that reveals your passion for solving complex problems, meets the needs of the user, and supports clearly identified business objectives. A portfolio is required.

Responsibilities
  • Produce designs with input from your product team to achieve the desired customer experience, including user flows, high‑fidelity wireframes, detailed mockups, and interactive prototypes
  • Act as the user‑advocate in cross‑functional teams with product managers, architects and software engineers
  • Communicate your design process and recommendations effectively to C‑Suite level stakeholders and below across the organization
  • Create intuitive products that elevate the user experience in delightful ways using best practices, current design trends, and user research
  • Collaborate with product managers, executives, and other stakeholders to incorporate specific design requirements, visual treatment, and content structure
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not for profit university or college
  • 5+ years relevant design experience, working with a product team
  • Experience working on the design and creation of enterprise applications
  • Strong communication skills (delivering to both business and technical partners)
  • Experience working with robust designs systems using atomic UI design principles
  • Strong proficiency in sketching, prototyping, articulating design decisions, and processing stakeholder feedback
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
  • A portfolio of well‑designed, user‑centered projects
  • Track record of commitment to prior employers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Data visualization experience where infographics are used to tell a story
  • Prior experience with survey and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Pendo, , and Survey Monkey
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a PLUS
