Electromyographer Physician Part-time
Virginia iSpine Physicians PC, a well-established Interventional Spine/MSK practice in Central Virginia, is seeking a Part-Time Electromyographer Physician to join their team to help our patients reconnect with what is meaningful to them. We recently relocated to a brand new 7,500 square feet facility with an onsite physical therapy area and a fully-equipped procedure suite, complete with onsite anesthesia services. Our practice is actively involved in innovative spine research and training physicians how to practice responsible and cost-effective Interventional Spine Care.
The staff at Virginia iSpine Physicians specialize in caring for patients with painful spine and musculoskeletal disorders and exercise a team-based approach to improve patient’s level of function and quality of life.
Position Highlights:
Educate patients and/or caretakers by explaining the procedure and resultsConduct routine Electromyography and nerve conduction studies as outlined in department scope of practice, policy, and procedures, and quality assurance standardsOperate EMG/NCS machine to record electrical activity in peripheral nervesProvides patient instructions, education, and evaluates the patient’s response to testingOutlines the nature of the procedure and test with patientsAnswers questions patients may have as to hazards or discomforts presented by the testInterfaces professionally and effectively with physicians, fellow staff, and other disciplines to evaluate and modify testing as neededDocuments patient information pertinent to testing to ensure comprehensive, timely, and accurate recording, accounting, and reporting of clinical findingsSend copies of test results to referring physiciansAssists leadership and team members in activities that add value to positive patient outcomes and improve clinical operationsOther duties as assignedQualifications:
Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine or Doctorate of MedicineCurrent License in VirginiaHaving graduated from a residency program in PM&R or Neurology with practicing in EMG/NCS studiesThree years of experience conducting EMG/NCS testingProficiency in electromyography-nerve conduction studies, requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, outside agencies, and patients and their familiesJob Type: Part-time

Virginia Medical License (Required)
