DescriptionRecently designated as a Level II Trauma Center, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, VA, is seeing growth in its volume of obstetric and surgical cases. The community hospital with 340 beds features around-the-clock pediatric and adult emergency room care. It is home to the Virginia Institute of Robotic Surgery Center, The Heart Center at Henrico Doctors’, Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, Primary Stroke Center, Women’s Hospital, and the Virginia Transplant Center, which has a specialty in kidney transplants.
The local practice also provides coverage to Retreat Doctors’ Hospital, Parham Doctors’ Hospital, and five ambulatory surgical centers.

Requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious ad/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- TEE proficiency is required
- Completion of Cardiac Fellowship
- ECFMC and FLEX
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Currently licensed as a physician
