Overview

PRN Pediatric Infectious Diseases Physician (M67994) – Children s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, Richmond, VA. This is a PRN position within a growing pediatric infectious diseases program.

• Teaching:
  Provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents, chief residents, and fellows when applicable.
• Research:
  Research aspirations are encouraged but not required; support will depend on prior accomplishments and potential.
• Service:
  Serve on departmental or School of Medicine levels committees when appropriate; engage in professional activities such as journal review and conference presentations.
• Clinical:
  Inpatient consultation for children with suspected infections or infections that are complex, chronic, or difficult to diagnose or treat; provide phone consultation for physicians and other pediatric professionals; review antibiotic, antiviral, or antifungal therapies and assist in drug monitoring for toxicities; consultation on epidemiologic issues in healthcare and the community.

• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Infectious Diseases
• Experience with clinical care of patients
• Demonstrated commitment to an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students, or a commitment to foster such an environment as a faculty member at VCU

• Previous experience in an academic medical center
• Demonstrated excellent teaching skills
