School of BTT Culinary Arts Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)
Join Virginia Western Community College to teach culinary arts courses in-person, hybrid, or online. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on an as needed, course-by-course, semester basis with hours and days varying based on course offerings and enrollment.
Responsibilities- Teach college-level culinary arts courses covering principles, baking and pastry, garde manger, American Regional and International cuisine, meat and seafood, sanitation and safety.
- Maintain current knowledge in culinary arts and community college education trends.
- Write syllabi, exams, and assessments for courses.
- Participate actively in departmental communication and activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts OR Associate’s degree in culinary arts with demonstrated competency and two years’ occupational experience in culinary arts.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience writing syllabi and exams and ability to work with students of varying abilities.
- Current Serv Safe or ACF industry certifications preferred.
- State vehicle operation required; no supervisory responsibilities. No required travel.
