Job Description:

Virginia Western Community College is accepting applications for part-time Engineering Adjunct Faculty in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Engineering adjunct faculty are needed to teach college-level courses in-person or in a hybrid format where lectures are online and labs are in-person on the main Virginia Western campus.

Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education. In addition, faculty are expected to be active participants in departmental communication.

Review of applications will occur when an adjunct faculty need arises and will continue until needed positions are filled and/or the closing date of this posting.

Required Qualifications:

Must possess a Master’s degree in Engineering.

All Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum and assessments; as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

Additional Considerations:

Teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
