Developmental Math Adjunct Faculty; Part-Time

Virginia Western Community College is accepting applications for part-time Developmental Math Adjunct Faculty in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Developmental Math adjunct faculty are needed to teach developmental Math courses in-person during the day and/or evenings. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education.

We must receive copies of transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions. If the transcripts are not attached to the online application, please upload a document to indicate that the transcripts will be mailed. The application will not be accepted without this “required” documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the teaching assignment and either teaching/occupational experience related to the teaching assignment or graduate coursework in developmental education. All Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments; as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

Additional Considerations:
Master’s degree in Math. Teaching experience at the college level.

Hours and days vary based on course offerings and enrollment.
