Developmental Math Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)

Virginia Western Community College is accepting applications for part-time Developmental Math Adjunct Faculty in the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Developmental Math adjunct faculty are needed to teach developmental Math courses in-person during the day and/or evenings. Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education.

Special Instructions:

We must receive copies of transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions. Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the teaching assignment and either teaching/occupational experience related to the teaching assignment or graduate coursework in developmental education. All Adjunct Faculty positions require excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams; ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments; as well as the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.

Additional Considerations:
Master’s degree in Math. Teaching experience at the college level.

Work Schedule:
Hours and days vary based on course offerings and enrollment.
