Position Summary

The Lead Teacher for our 2s and 3s classroom is a pivotal role at The Noble Academy, Inc. This individual will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for toddlers and young preschoolers, design daily learning activities, establish positive classroom routines, and foster meaningful relationships with children and families.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with The Noble Academy’s curriculum and philosophy.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized classroom environment.
  • Guide children through daily routines, including meals, rest time, and transitions.
  • Promote positive social interactions and support emotional regulation among children.
  • Communicate regularly with families about children’s progress, classroom events, and developmental milestones.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure high‑quality instruction and supervision.
  • Monitor and document children’s growth, behaviors, and learning outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and organizational safety, health, and licensing requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma. Associate’s degree in early childhood education or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of experience teaching or leading in an early childhood classroom, preferably with 2‑3‑year‑olds.
  • Valid and current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Satisfactory completion of all background checks as required by state regulations.
  • Proof of up‑to‑date immunizations via Virginia Department of Health guidelines.
Essential Functions
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of all children at all times.
  • Model and reinforce positive behavior management strategies.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Actively participate in classroom activities, outdoor play, and group projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the academy and state regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of child development principles for toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Creativity in lesson planning and classroom activities.
  • Patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for early childhood education.
  • Ability to lift to 40 pounds and remain active throughout the workday.
Training and Compliance
  • Completion of required pre‑service training, including health, safety, and child development modules.
  • Ongoing participation in professional development and in‑service training as mandated by The Noble Academy, Inc. and state licensing requirements.
  • Willingness to maintain certifications and stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
Work Schedule
  • Full‑time position: typical hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with a one‑hour break.
  • Some flexibility may be required for staff meetings, training, and school functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Previous leadership or mentorship roles within an early learning setting.
