To provide instruction in English to adult learners in a class setting, ensuring that instruction meets state and federal standards and aligns with PVCC’s instructional program. The instructor will create engaging lessons, manage learning time, and maintain accurate records for a supportive learning environment.

• Plan, organize, and deliver instruction in English that meets state and federal standards.
• Provide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with TJACE@PVCC’s instructional program.
• Develop and deliver lessons utilizing a broad range of teaching techniques and strategies that meet the needs and goals of students.
• Address all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Maintain complete and accurate records.
• Provide a supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies/content.
• Manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.
• Participate in the program’s Professional Learning Community and staff meetings.
• Remain on site during instructional periods (classes are held in person).

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
• ESL teaching experience (minimum of X years, not specified).

• Outstanding personal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and accurate record keeping.
• Ability to incorporate current technology into the classroom environment.
• Ability to work with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills to analyze issues and create action plans.
• Adaptability to changing work priorities.
• Ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships.

Relevant graduate degree or ESL certificate, and experience working with adults, are desirable.
