Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Pre-Construction team. This entry-level role is ideal for early-career mechanical engineering graduates with a passion for construction, mechanical systems and a desire to contribute to high-impact commercial and industrial projects in Virginia. You will collaborate with our Preconstruction Team and Field Operations leader to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals for HVAC and plumbing systems for large-scale facilities such as hospitals, high-rises, government buildings, data centers, and universities.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teamsto review construction documents and define project scopes.
- Support conceptual estimating efforts to inform early-stage project budgeting.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for HVAC, sheet metal ductwork, plumbing, and piping systems using industry-standard software.
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate and competitive pricing.
- Identify and propose value engineering solutions that optimize cost and performance.
- Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and support sales teams with technical presentations
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Foundational knowledge or strong interest in HVAC, ductwork, plumbing, and piping systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and cost data systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
