- Develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) for the prefabrication shop aligned with company standards and industry best practices.
- Define and document quality procedures, inspection plans, and work instructions for sheet metal, mechanical piping, and assembly processes.
- Establish process audit routines to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Define and track key quality performance indicators (KPIs) including defect rates, rework, first-pass yield, and process capability indices.
- Develop and implement SPC systems to monitor process variation and identify improvement opportunities.
- Leverage data analytics to drive corrective and preventive actions, and report quality performance to leadership.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving sessions using structured methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.).
- Support lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications (e.g., ASME, SMACNA, AWS).
- Build and lead a skilled quality team of quality inspectors.
- Provide training and mentorship to quality and production personnel to enhance awareness of quality standards and expectations.
- 7+ years of experience in quality management within construction, manufacturing, or prefabrication environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
- Proven experience developing and implementing QMS systems and SPC programs.
- Proficient in data analytics and SPC tools (Minitab, Excel, Power BI, etc.).
- Familiar with ISO 9001 principles, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Working knowledge of inspection and testing tools (CMM, gauges, NDT, visual inspection, etc.).
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, mechanical pipe welding/fitting, and modular assembly highly preferred.
