We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join the Kaiser Aluminum team in Bellwood Virginia at our aluminum extrusion and tube mill plant!
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning of mechanical and electrical maintenance work throughout the facility utilizing established maintenance system processes and in accordance with established regulatory and workmanship standards.
What you will work on:- Execution of the Planning and Scheduling work process in their assigned area(s). This includes:
- Engaging internal customers to prioritize the unplanned work backlog
- Planning required electrical and mechanical work
- Engaging internal customers to prioritize Planned ready to Schedule backlog
- Creation of a Weekly Schedule.
- Creation and update of job plans and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Coordination of the generation/update of required supporting drawings as required.
- Purchase of parts and materials for execution of maintenance work
- Coordination of rebuildable spare part repairs.
- Coordination with department engineering staff for major project support.
- Execution of select Major Maintenance Projects
- Execution of small limited Capital Projects (capital spare purchases, large equipment purchases)
- Generation of scopes of work for contract services.
- Act as Owner’s Representative as required for contracted services.
- A two-year degree (technical field) or equivalent work experience is required.
- 3+ years of experience in executing, supervising, or planning work in an industrial environment.
- Strong computer skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, and Project.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proven ability to work in teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CMMS software (MAXIMO) preferred.
- Be energetic, disciplined and focused on a team building operational organization.
- Have well developed interpersonal and business partnering skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to, be accepted by, and interrelate with the organization at all levels.
- Be willing to work flexible hours.
- Attendance and Dependability: The employee can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work. Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.

- Approximately 50% of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. 50% of the job function is required in the plant. There is exposure to operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.
- This position requires performing tasks on a computer.
- There will be periods of walking and standing.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance.
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
