Dewberry is currently seeking responsible, highly motivated, and detail oriented individuals to join our Land Surveying department in the Richmond office as an Entry Level Land Surveyor to serve our Mid-Atlantic territory. The position is ideal for new graduates or entry level professionals in surveying.
The Land Surveying department works on boundary, ALTA, topographic, right‑of‑way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology. There is opportunity for advancement for motivated individuals willing to learn the required skills and technology.
Responsibilities- Assist the field supervisor with all aspects of the daily crew workload.
- Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.
- Ensure safekeeping of equipment.
- Ensure that vehicles are supplied, kept orderly, and ready for duty.
- Prepare field documentation and assist in data collection (optional).
- High School Diploma (minimum).
- Good mathematical skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license with willingness to pass a driving record check.
- Drug test required.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance is a plus.
- Physical ability to work outdoors and on construction sites in all weather and terrain; stoop, crawl, bend, squat, lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
- Work overtime and travel for extended periods as required.
- Experience with electric transmission and oil and gas transmission projects is a plus.
