Engineering Technical Specialist
Location:
Richmond, VA.
$28.00/hr - $35.00/hr
Pay range is provided by Progressive. Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.
Qualifications- Bachelors or Associate in Engineering Technology, Science, Math, Architecture, etc. (education/relevant experience considered in lieu of preferred degree)
- 2-5 years of experience estimating projects
- Ability to read, interpret plan and elevation drawings
- Some knowledge of construction (substation construction, any type of utility, civil/site development)
- Familiarity with SAP, scheduling, or finance management
- Experience with Sage/Success estimating is preferred
- Knowledge of any estimating software is a plus
- AutoCAD and Microstation experience is preferred
- Adaptability / Flexible work conditions
- Willing to learn the company process/standards but share their ideas
- Evidence of good collaboration with team members
- Planning, organizational and project management skills
- Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Effective time management and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Develop project estimates in US Cost Success and/or Sage Estimating to assist substation engineering team
- Collaborate with team to ensure accuracy of the project estimates
- Review the estimating database accuracy and update it as required
- Create/Review technical drawings (Substation Layout and one-line Diagram)
