The Field Service Specialist focuses on professional service and support for Huber Technology customers by performing field service installations, startup, repair and maintenance of wastewater equipment.

JOB SUMMARY

The Field Service Specialist, Industrial‑Mechanical Repair Emphasis works within the guidelines established by the Director of Service and/or President and follows established procedures when representing Huber Technology.

Responsibilities
  • Installing, calibrating, configuring, testing, maintaining, evaluating, troubleshooting, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and repairing wastewater equipment manufactured by Huber Technology and related components.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance or repair of equipment and associated items.
  • Performing unscheduled maintenance or repair of equipment and associated items.
  • Installing equipment at customer sites and conducting pre‑installation assistance.
  • Reviewing blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation to prepare for startup or service.
  • Providing on‑site training of customer personnel to Huber Technology standards.
  • Building professional customer relationships through solution‑oriented communications and service, providing on‑site and telephone support.
  • Working with engineering, project management, spare parts and management to resolve escalated problems.
  • Providing written reports to the Director of Service on all activities carried out on site and completing required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Providing expense reports to the Director of Service on all expenses incurred on site and completing required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Making technical recommendations to maintenance technicians and/or treatment plant operators.
  • Working closely with the Director of Service, Aftermarket Sales Team and Operations Team to ensure site work is carried out in the required order and completed on time.
  • Maintaining safe working practices on site and reporting any breaches of health & safety to the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator and/or the Director of Service.
  • Undertaking any appropriate technical activities that may not be directly related to site, as may be allocated by the Director of Service.
  • Ensuring materials, tools and equipment provided for work are kept safe, secure and in good order.
  • Ensuring all tools and equipment are relevant, up to date and calibrated in accordance with Huber Technology requirements.
  • Assisting when needed in manufacturing or engineering with customer projects as well as unit refurbishment or replacement at the customer site or Huber Technology manufacturing facility.
  • Properly documenting, labeling and returning all defective parts utilized in equipment repair.
  • Educating the customer on basic operation of their equipment.
  • Assisting when needed in the parts department with recommending spare parts and wear parts to existing and new customers.
  • Performing all welding activities required in the shop and/or customer site.
  • Ensuring all necessary travel, medical and associated documentation is valid and kept up to date and informing the Field Service Manager in adequate time to procure any replacements.
  • Providing in‑depth troubleshooting via phone with customers in the field.
  • Providing technical assistance to all representatives of Huber Technology, Inc. in the field.
  • Assisting customers with on‑application and process related issues via phone and in the field.
  • Assisting the Director of Service, V.P. of Operations and Aftermarket Sales Consultants with identifying warranty vs. non‑warranty issues.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance towards customers on the telephone and by correspondence as well as in person.
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring all necessary documentation is valid and kept up to date and informing the Director of Service in adequate time to procure any replacements.
  • Uniforms are provided by Huber Technology, Inc.;
