Position: Staff Geologist 2

Staff Geologist 2

Join Haley & Aldrich to help address meaningful challenges in both built and natural environments.

Responsibilities
  • Perform field work including site reconnaissance, site access assessment, and identification of site features.
  • Monitor subsurface exploration activities (test borings, geoprobes, test pits) to collect soil, bedrock, groundwater, and other information for project design.
  • Conduct soil and groundwater sampling in accordance with ASTM standards, company procedures, and industry guidelines.
  • Collect, synthesize, analyze, and report field data using spreadsheets and other tools.
  • Conduct on‑site monitoring and engineering observation of contractor environmental and geotechnical construction activities.
  • Use environmental and geotechnical instrumentation during field work.
  • Perform historical site reviews and examine applicable regulations.
  • Prepare written reports, proposals, cost estimates, and other client deliverables, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs.
  • Adhere to site‑specific health and safety plans and participate in safety briefings and audits.
  • Comply with company guiding principles, code of behavior, health & safety protocols, and professional standards.
  • Frequent travel, including out‑of‑state extended project work as needed.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline (M.S. preferred).
  • 1–3 years of related experience (preferred but not required).
  • Application or possession of professional certification (EIT, FE, FG, PG, RG, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to travel for temporary assignments across the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
  • OSHA 40‑hr. HAZWOPER and OSHA 10‑hr. Construction Site Safety training preferred.
