Lead Electrical Estimator – Data CenterJob Summary
The Lead Estimator reports directly to the Senior Preconstruction Manager and is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates from take‑off stage to bid hand‑off, managing change orders, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring all estimates meet project requirements and company standards.

- Develop cost estimates from take‑off stage to bid hand‑off.
- Develop cost estimates for change orders.
- Analyze material and labor requirements to complete a project.
- Attend pre‑bid and scope review meetings.
- Compute and submit bids.
- Read and thoroughly understand blueprints.
- Meet with engineers, customers, vendors, and Project Managers.
- Visually inspect project locations to determine the amount of labor and materials needed.
- Contact vendors for pricing.
- Assess the costs of leasing equipment.
- Maintain and standardize change order submissions/documents.
- Coordinate and organize other estimators.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Low Voltage Systems.
- Ability to read and evaluate specifications and blueprints.
- Ability to deal effectively with customers.
- Ability to analyze risks involved with certain project types.
- Ability to estimate large and small projects.
- Ability to work calmly under deadlines and external pressure.
- Excellent math skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong computer skills—specifically in Microsoft or Google Suite Applications.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without employer sponsorship. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H‑1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.
- 8‑10 years of experience with a High School Diploma.
- 6‑8 years of experience with an Associate degree.
- 2‑4 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Familiarity with Accubid or Con Est Estimating Software.
- On‑Site, Mission Critical Project experience.
- Hands‑on construction experience.
- Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
- Finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms.
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words.
- Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Identify and understand the speech of another person.
