Position Summary
Accelevation is seeking an experienced and innovative Product Engineering Manager to lead the development and management of our UL 891 compliant low-voltage switchboard product line. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of the product lifecycle — from concept and design to testing, certification, and production support — This role is responsible for ensuring our products meet the demanding requirements of data center environments — including reliability, scalability, and efficiency — while adhering to UL 891 and other industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of UL 891 compliant low-voltage switchboards and related products.
  • Manage and mentor a team of mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure all designs comply with UL 891, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable standards and codes.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and customers to understand and incorporate the unique power distribution needs of hyperscale and enterprise data centers.
  • Own the product roadmap and work closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to deliver competitive, high-quality products on schedule and within budget.
  • Define product specifications, materials, and component requirements.
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and certification processes with UL and other agencies.
  • Provide technical support to sales, marketing, and customers regarding product capabilities, features, and applications.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive products to drive product innovation and improvement.
  • Support production and field service teams in resolving design-related issues.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitive products in the data center space to drive improvement and innovation.
  • Manage engineering documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and test reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in the design and development of low-voltage switchboards, panel boards, or related electrical distribution equipment.
  • 3+ years in a leadership or management role, with a track record of leading engineering teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of UL 891, NEC, IEEE, and NEMA standards, as well as data center power distribution requirements.
  • Experience developing products specifically for data center environments, with a deep understanding of their operational challenges and expectations.
  • Experience managing UL certification and working with UL representatives.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, or equivalent) and engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and interface with customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and design-for-manufacturability principles.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Architectures
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, busbar systems, and enclosure design.
