OverviewMerrick & Company is seeking a full‑time Senior Electrical Engineer for our Energy, Manufacturing & Bioprocessing department. The position is based in several locations including Greenwood Village, CO, Richmond, VA, Ellicott City, MD, Chattanooga, TN, or Tulsa, OK and offers a hybrid work schedule with relocation considered. Typical annual pay range: $125,400 – $162,300, subject to experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Do- Serve as project lead on major or multiple moderate‑scope projects with complex features.
- Develop electrical design documents and drawings, including one‑line, control schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Analyze and approve work, monitoring team execution to meet project estimates.
- Conceptual and detailed design of low‑voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, PLC/PAC, HMIs, process equipment and instrumentation.
- Interact with clients, customers, officials, contractors and others.
- Lead project meetings and present findings.
- Perform typical electrical calculations: voltage drop, short circuit, coordination studies, arc flash, relay settings, conduit fill, lighting, grounding.
- Develop specifications and datasheets for equipment such as transformers, switch gear, MCCs.
- Travel to client project sites for field walk‑downs and as‑built reviews.
- Collaborate with Design/Engineering Managers to ensure project schedules are met and documents are completed on time.
- Minimum 12 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in power, energy, oil & gas or industrial process industries.
- Experience developing one‑line drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, power plans, conduit plans, and cable schedules.
- Knowledge of codes and standards: NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, REvit or similar design software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college.
- PE license required.
- US citizenship required for client projects.
