Consumer Indirect Lending Operations Product Specialist – Product Cancellation

This position has primary responsibility for performing routine and non‑routine operational duties in support of Consumer Indirect Lending, including document verification, product cancellation and post‑closing. Additional duties may include compliance, data entry, record keeping, research, client service, and account reconciliation. Requires in-depth knowledge of consumer lending and related products.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of established departmental policies and procedures, system applications, and corporate bank policies as they pertain to job assignments.
  • Work assigned tasks in priority as established by leadership.
  • Respond in a timely manner and effectively process basic to moderate requests, inquiries, and proposals received from both external and internal clients. Escalate unresolved issues as needed.
  • Document and communicate efforts accordingly with third parties and leadership.
  • Review assigned reports and work queues to provide optimal client service and reduce risk exposure.
  • Research, resolve, and document inquiries based on working knowledge of various third‑party vendors.
  • Follow‑up with clients, dealerships, providers, and other third parties to ensure product cancellations and refunds are received and processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure settlement proposals are in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Review and map rebates received on a daily basis.
  • Use multiple systems, recording information, importing/entering data, and maintaining records.
  • Interact professionally with dealers, clients, and other vendors to obtain missing or invalid information and documentation; obtain and review documentation for accuracy.
  • Resolve complex client issues using multiple resources and records.
  • Prepare and distribute specialized and/or complex documents.
  • Research, review, and reconcile GL account reports in a timely manner limiting the amount of loss.
  • Process the appropriate GL transactions when necessary.
  • Deposit and process checks in a timely manner to adhere to compliance policies.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert on operational issues related to process or function, providing training and support as needed.
  • Optimize efficiency by interpreting operating policies and procedures, identifying opportunities for process enhancements, and recommending changes.
  • Assist with training and ongoing coaching of less experienced document control specialists, providing input to management on staff performance.
  • Act as an advisor to less experienced team members when handling more difficult accounts and client calls.
  • Qualifications

    Required:

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight time constraints.
    • Proficiency in reviewing loan documentation and product contracts.
    • Intermediate consumer lending knowledge.
    • Knowledge of consumer loan systems.
    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
    • Post‑secondary education or equivalent work experience.
    • Prior experience or knowledge of consumer indirect lending regulatory requirements or related lending experience.
    • 4 years of experience in credit operations, loan consultation, or administration.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills for explaining loan process, exceptions, and associated documentation to internal and external clients.

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Experience in lending components including documentation, approvals, exceptions, and administration.
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
