Finance Internship Program

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Work directly with the finance team to learn about financial operations in a global, publicly traded company.
• Gain hands-on experience within accounting, finance, global procurement, global disbursements, or internal audit departments.
• Complete valuable business projects and contribute toward team goals.
• Participate in networking opportunities and educational sessions.

The company is looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:

• Current college student, preferably rising juniors or rising seniors.
• Strong academic performance with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and analytical skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Extraordinary potential and alignment with The Markel Style core values.

• Paid internship for full-time work from June through August at the Richmond, VA headquarters.

The salary range for this internship is $24 to $28.50 per hour, based on education, experience, and other factors.
