The Speech Therapist provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments, establishes appropriate treatment goals, and serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and colleagues.

• Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patients’ speech‑language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
• Administer objective tests to assess patients’ communication assets and liabilities.
• Structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication abilities.
• Evaluate patients regularly during treatment and adjust programs as needed to maximize progress.
• Document progress in patients’ charts, completing notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
• Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre‑screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Master’s Degree.
• Certified Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP).
