A post‑doctoral position to study the regulatory mechanisms of transporters underlying addiction, anxiety, autism, depression, OCD, and other brain disorders. The successful candidate will conduct in vivo studies using knock‑out and knock‑in mice, as well as cell culture and brain tissue studies, to investigate GPCR‑linked regulated transporter contribution to normal behavior and the consequences of dysregulated transporter regulation in brain disorders.
CoreResponsibilities
- Experimental planning and execution based on hypotheses and goals.
- Data analysis, manuscript preparation, and presentation.
- Maintenance of animal colony as needed.
- Literature review.
Minimum: Ph.D. in biotechnology, neuroscience, molecular biology, biological sciences, or behavioral pharmacology with experience in animal studies and cell biology. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred: Research experience with rodents for behavioral assays, biochemical and molecular analysis, and rodent surgery.
Candidate must be able to analyze data, write publishable manuscripts, and communicate effectively in collaborative efforts. Weekend work may be required for behavioral assay continuity.
SalaryNIH minimum starting at $62,232.
