Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (ARCBO)

The Atlantic Region Central Billing Office ("ARCBO") or "CBO" provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre‑access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Patient Accounts Team Lead is to work in conjunction with the Patient Accounts Manager to coordinate the operational activities of the customer service department.

  • Handle patient calls via phone to obtain information necessary to resolve concerns or complete tasks.
  • Work with Customer Service Manager and peers to resolve issues associated with customer service.
  • Assist patient inquiries by resolving timely and providing accurate information for issue resolution.
  • Set example and maintain courteous and professional attitude with internal and external customers and co‑workers.
  • Completes training of new hires and ongoing in‑services as appropriate concerning areas of responsibility and payer specific updates.
  • Monitor incoming call volume to assure patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor and coach individual productivity standards on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to assure customer satisfaction goals and objectives are met.
  • Review and/or create daily, weekly and monthly reports as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an office setting highly preferred
  • Knowledge of managed care payers and medical terminology is preferred
  • Ability to learn quickly, build and maintain long term relationships and work with minimal supervision
  • Detail‑oriented with the ability to work on multiple, competing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical, organizational and time‑management skills required
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
