Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Children's Pavilion – Pediatric ENT – Part‑time

**$1,000 Sign On Bonus

The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age‑specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, the National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare Association.
Experience – Required
  • One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if the individual is not a graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • No work experience required if the individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e‑mail, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem‑solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience – Preferred
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Previous experience in an academic health care environment.
Education – Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Education – Preferred
  • Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Independent Actions Required
  • Functions under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
  • Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care that deviates from standard; and identifying educational resources to meet developmental needs.
  • Job duties may include handling, transportation, access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.

Position Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistants work all three shifts, weekends and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
  • Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet clinic requirements and/or as needed.

  • Physical:
    Lifting 20‑50 lbs.
  • Activities:

    Prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
  • Mental/Sensory:
    Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speak clearly, write legibly, reading, logical thinking.
  • Emotional:
    Fast‑pace environment, able to handle multiple priorities, able to adapt to frequent change.
