Floor Care Specialist – CJW Medical Center – Johnston‑Willis Hospital

• Maintain resilient flooring and carpet throughout the hospital.
• Perform general Environmental Services duties as needed.
• Operate floor equipment including vacuums, burnishers, scrubbers, wet vacs, carpet extractor, and imop.
• Apply floor finishing procedures: dust mopping, mopping, stripping, application of floor finish, burnishing.
• Handle floor chemicals and follow infection control policies and PPE usage.
• Report mechanical issues with floor equipment to appropriate personnel.
• Clean and maintain flooring in patient and non‑patient areas, offices, common areas, hallways and rest rooms to a high standard.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly floor maintenance schedule.
• Ensure proper hazard signage (e.g., wet floor warnings) is placed when needed.
• Promote positive patient interactions as part of exceptional patient service.

• Minimum 2+ years caring for and maintaining resilient floors.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
