HR Manager, HR Generalist / Talent Management, Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Recruiter / Talent Acquisition
The Director of Human Resources is HEF's lead HR professional, responsible for staffing, paying, supporting, and ensuring compliance for a large, largely part-time workforce. The role serves approximately 20 full-time and 100 part-time employees across 15 after school program sites.
The position combines two areas. It serves as the organization's primary resource for payroll, benefits, retirement plan administration, and employment law compliance. It also manages daily staffing in a fast-paced environment where schedules shift often, and gaps must be solved in real time, while maintaining staff-to-student ratios and childcare licensing requirements.
This role calls for a hands-on professional with strong interpersonal skills, deep knowledge of HR law and best practices, and high accuracy on recurring deadlines. While not directly responsible for programming or supervising staff, the Director is a critical partner to program leaders, ensuring they have the staffing and guidance needed to operate successfully each day.
