Position: PC Systems Analyst  Entry Professional

PC Systems Analysis work focuses on identifying, configuring, and installing personal computing (PC) systems hardware, software, and info-communications networks to enhance employee productivity and improve process efficiency while ensuring compliance with overall information systems goals and procedures. The work includes:
• Gathering business and end user requirements
• Analyzing and evaluating personal computing products, devices, and systems available in the marketplace for affordability, compatibility, expandability, and ease of use/support
• Installing and configuring PC systems software to optimize performance and integration with client/server applications and info-communications transmission networks
• Analyzing functionality and risks for mobile computing devices, including policies and approaches for managing security and data back-up in bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments An Entry Professional (PI) applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. May require the following proficiency:
• Work is closely supervised.
• Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex.
• Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.

Responsible for providing internal preventive maintenance, testing and repair of computer hardware. Coordinate the installation, maintenance, and support required to maintain a variety of PC’s. Provide technical support and guidance to the technical teams within IS and the user community at large and the best practices deployment and use of the desktop environment. Responsible for building, deploying, and supporting the desktop environment based on best practices.

LOCATION:

This position is based out of our beautiful West Creek Office Park location. This position will report full-time on site, no relocation offered.

Office hours:
Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Maintain Service Levels for technical infrastructure (up and running).
  • Manage corporate desktops according to IS established best practices
  • Design, test, & validate desktop OS and application deployments
  • Research, test, and implement OS and application patches and hot fixes
  • Manage issues without having to escalate desktop or Office 365issues to another level.
  • Bridge the desktop environment and the server environment
  • Maintain and support for PC hardware and printers/copiers
  • Maintain and support all remote access points to the VFB network. This includes keeping up to date on best practices for remote access
  • Responsible for the logical & physical support of all network printers
  • Troubleshoot desktop security issues.
  • Respond to Service Desk issues and escalations based on established service levels.
  • Support Windows remote users.
  • Communicate and respond to customer inquiries and requests based on established service levels.
  • Use personal and communication skills to draw technical information out of a non-technical client
  • Pursue new educational opportunities and contribute to the IS Wiki information database
  • All other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Serves as a member of the IS Incident Management support team.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent
  • A+ certification
  • 5 plus years of desktop administration experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of Microsoft networking, to include TCP/IP and name resolution
  • Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware
  • Good knowledge of printers, copiers and fax machines
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Officer 365 Applications
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Servers
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Microsoft 365 Certified:
    Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
